WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using the help of button, which will display an item's preview when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item upgrade level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Crests

Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once an item level upgrade reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
