Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the power of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by a variety of methods through the use of upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally there are many items that can be reforged to boost their stats even more.

Upgradable items can be found in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. The main way to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade and some require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses while others give general bonuses.

Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen. It will display the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade items components needed for a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the rarity and level of the item upgrades increase. However, you can reduce the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a merchant, or trading them with other players.

Almost all weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix like an insignia, or a rune. Many can be upgraded with a suffix upgrade. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in conveying a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph comes with a range of values that it could enhance a stat in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This is not the actual amount by which the glyph will increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can do so. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are in awe of.

The majority of upgrade components inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary upgrades and equipment. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been incorporated into your gear, you can move it to another piece of equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged by removing the glyph fragments.

Adding a glyph to an item level upgrade could cause it to be unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also put an inscription to your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is helpful for those who take many hits from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an unspecified affix, which is typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be a good way to reroll weapon stats, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or additional perks.

Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, therefore higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.
